Tässä blogitekstissä tutustutaan sähköpyöriin yleisesti ja siihen, mitä HansCruiser edustaa. Sähköpyörät ovat Suomen katukuvassa vielä suhteellisen uusi ilmiö, tosin kasvava sellainen. Keski-Euroopassa sähköpyöriä myydään jo yhä enemmän ja uskomme, että suunta on sama täälläkin. Siihen on varmasti vaikutusta vuoden 2016 alussa voimaan tulleella lakimuutoksella, joka sallii eri tyyppisten sähköpyörien käytön kaduilla.
Aikaisemmin kadulla on saattanut törmätä sähköavusteiseen pyörään, jossa sähkömoottori avustaa poljettaessa eli moottori toimii vain silloin, kun pyörällä poljetaan. Nyt on kuitenkin mahdollista käyttää myös sähköpyörää, jolla voi liikkua pelkällä moottorin voimalla. Toisin sanoen voit liikkua pyörällä paikasta toiseen polkematta yhtään polkaisua (saat toki polkea, jos siltä tuntuu). Kuulostaa hyvältä, eikö?
Kummassakin tapauksessa pyörä saa kulkea max. 25 km/h. Sähköavusteisessa moottorissa tehoa saa olla 250 W ja moottorilla kulkevassa 1 kW. Kuitenkin, kun sähköpyörä kulkee pelkän moottorin voimalla, vaatii se liikennevakuutuksen.
Sähköpyöriä on tarjolla eri mallisia ja erilaisilla ominaisuuksilla. Usein ne ovatkin maastopyöriä tai perinteisen kaupunkipyörän näköisiä ja usein niissä on irrotettava, ladattava akku. Parhaiten sähköpyörä toimii lyhyehköillä matkoilla, joihin usein otetaan käyttöön auto. Esimerkiksi työmatkat taittuvat joskus jopa nopeammin sähköpyörällä ruuhka-aikaan. Myös kaupunkiajelussa sähköpyörä vie voiton.
Kysymys kuuluukin, mihin HansCruiser asettuu? Ei ainakaan perinteiseen ajatukseen sähköpyörästä eikä se ole tarkoituskaan. Tarkoituksena on hyödyntää sähkömoottoria, jotta liikkumisesta tulee sujuvaa, mutta tämän lisäksi lisäämme teknologiaa, mikä tekee liikkumisesta edistyksellisempää (tulossa muuten todella mahtavia juttuja – kannattaa seurailla!). Tärkeimpänä panostamme pyörän malliin ja muotoiluun, jotka takaavat rennon ajokokemuksen.
